I think they rent umbrellas and chairs. They are fine. You are weird for looking up reviews for something so mundane.
Fantastic service and wonderful staff! Originally we rented 2 bikes and an umbrella. When we got to the condo and saw the owner's beach chairs we knew we needed different chairs. I made a quick call to North Strand Beach Services and they came back and delivered the chairs in no time and without an additional delivery charge. Huge thanks to North Strand Beach Services!!!!
I learned about NSBS from a Tripadvisor forum regarding umbrella and beach chair rentals. I rented an umbrella and 2 Tommy Bahama chairs online ahead of time to ensure availability and they were delivered to the office of our gated community on our arrival date and picked up from the same place on our departure date. During our stay, we stored the equipment in our car when not in use. Sure, you have to set it up yourself but it was worth the money you save from renting from other companies/lifeguards (I had called around to compare prices). We didn't know how to set up the umbrella in the sand, but Lisa talked us through it and it was a cinch. It took less than 5 minutes and was very sturdy for those windy days. The chairs were great with a built-in mini pillow, pockets to store phone and misc items as well as a mini cooler. Plus, the chairs had backpack straps for easy carrying. We received several comments about how nice the chairs were. Lisa was great! She was always available to answer my questions. She even called back when I called the store after hours but didn't leave a message...just because she wanted to make sure I wasn't having any problems. You will not regret your decision to rent from NSBS!
Great service and very friendly people! This is our second year using this company for renting 4 beach umbrellas and both years the process has been easy and done right the first time. We love being able to set the sturdy (very wind tolerant) but light weight umbrellas up when, where and how we wanted them and the Mike's Spikes made it doable for me, an over 60 year old woman (my sons did it most times though). We will definitely use them again next year for our Cherry Grove vacation.
Do not rent from anyone else! After a mix up where this company could have easily tried to place the blame on us, they didn't. They were kind during the entire process and made sure to restate how much we did everything we could and they would figure it out, which is HUGE! Especially driving home on an 8hour drive with three kids! The beach wagon we rented is a MUST HAVE. Such good quality. Lisa is amazing and made the experience painless. I just wish nothing would've been hard on them, although they couldn't have handled it more gracefully. Nothing but the most respect for this company and will not rent from another company from here on out. Thanks for helping us have the best vacation and not placing blame on us as soon as there was a question.
