** The beach itself is the smoothest sand I've ever felt, and it was very clean. (Though being here on Labor Day weekend it was absolutely packed full of people.) Note: When the sun goes down, head out to the shoreline for some incredible beauty and peace.

** The absolute best thing about this hotel was being on the beach. There is an indoor pool, an outdoor pool and a hot tub. Most rooms have the beach view, and most of those have a small balcony. There is a boardwalk/pier just out back. Umbrellas and chairs line it, and it's just beautiful.

Very affordable price, comfortable rooms. Doesn't have the touristy feel. Been going here for 30 years, and love it

** If you need housekeeping while you're out, you will have to request it. As a resort they don't do the housekeeping while you are checked in unless you ask for it. If you want clean towels or extra bathroom supplies, you may have to ask.

** This hotel is actually a resort. There is a full-size kitchenette, meaning there is a full-size refrigerator, a stove, a microwave, a full sink. The cabinets are full of dishes and appliances for your use, as well as a small bottle of dish liquid, towels and wash clothes for clean up.

The beach-front location is great. The rooms are privately owned and rented by agencies. They expect you to leave the room in the same condition you found it, when you arrived. I've never heard of such a thing. Threatening a maid fee! It kind of seemed like a low rent place, with standing water and puddles everywhere, not to mention the sand everywhere. I think they have no cleaning staff. If it was clean, I would give it 4 stars.

The People that work here have been extremely nice and helpful! When we arrived the front desk lady upgraded us to an oceanfront with balcony! For no extra cost! It's been very quiet and comfortable and relatively affordable! The reason its a 4 star is because we have been hearing the price we paid for 4 nights was on average what people are paying for a full week. Also the room was slightly dirty as far as base boards and random dirt the couch had stains on it. Beds were clean which is most important! Great view nice pool and spacious! We had a 1 bedroom with a full kitchen and our living space is spacious with a mounted flat screen with cable and a DVD player in room. The couch has a pull out bed which has been great for our son. We will def come back to Peppertree by the Sea! This was our first family vacation and we will have many more here!!!!

** This hotel is a bit up in age, but it has been and seems to be continually taken care of. The floor in the unit we had (and some others we saw) had been replaced with stone tile. This significantly reduced any musty wet odor we had been graced with at other waterfront hotels. The bedroom still had carpet, though, and still, it was dry and clean - no dampness. (There is an AC in the living room area and another one in the bedroom.)

** Location is also a plus, as you can walk to anything you need.

** This is not the hotel management's fault -- I just want to bring it to your attention that there is only one parking space per unit. If you get back from dinner a little late, you may not have a parking space in the hotel's parking lot. However, just across the street there is another small parking lot you are allowed to use. ** Was still a mite pricey, but then again, as mentioned earlier, we went on Labor Day weekend and reserved our room at the last minute. Even though it was still a bit steep, it was much less expensive than any other we found on the beach.

The outside pool area and the boardwalk are very clean and tidy. The staff open all the umbrellas each morning, and close them down each evening. At least two chairs accompany each umbrella providing ample shade for those of us who don't want the sun kissing our faces.

Location is prime. Walking distance from Main Street. Ocean front view. Surrounded by taller resorts, but the service is great. Has linen and laundry room for customers. It was a nice week on last of September. Little traffic on beach. But beware of dog walkers.
