Cracker Barrell has AWESOME food Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Great old school toys and modern day. Good clothes. GREAT gifts and souvenirs. Clothes from infant to senior.
I certainly did not expect much, but NMB Cracker Barrel managed to fall short of my anticipation of a bad meal. I ordered the ribeye, which I suspect was really a sirloin. However, I did foolishly order a steak at Cracker Barrel, so I will accept culpability for this one. I ordered my son the kid's burger with cheese and pickles, and my husband ordered the Signature Burger. My son's burger and my husband's burger looked exactly the same with the exception of the lettuce (which he had asked them to hold) and tomato on the latter. When I asked the server for cheese and pickles for my son's burger, she snapped back that they don't have pickles (under the heading of things that should have been mentioned upon ordering). I was delivered a slice of slightly melted cheese on a plate--very appetizing. My husband then went into battle with the server over his burger. After again reading the description of the burger from the menu: two patties, Colby cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo, he asked our already irritated server for a Signature Burger. She brought another burger, exactly the same as the first (one patty, lettuce, tomato, no cheese, no mayo), put it on the table, and told my husband, "The signature burger only has one patty." She then brought him a slice of cheese, slightly melted, on a small plate. Perhaps a class on menu items is in order? We went to Cracker Barrel because my 86 year old grandmother likes the pork chops. In fact, when given the choice of any restraunt she will always choose Cracker Barrel. Her pork chop was tough and dry, and we had to ask four times for her side of dumplings.
Before this I hadn't been to a Cracker & Barrel in a while. I had forgotten how good their food and service was. We went for breakfast and it was delicious. I had some eggs, turkey sausage, biscuits & gravy and finally grits. The biscuits were definitely the highlight of the meal, they are the best biscuits I have ever had. And mixed with the gravy, even better! The service was awesome as soon as we walked in we were seated within a minute or two. Our waitress was incredibly kind and joked around with us a bit. When I asked for an extra biscuit she got it straight from the oven. I rate this five stars because of a delicious meal, fresh food, good presentation and amazing service.
The same everywhere you go, good food, decent wait staff
The salad was very good, however I ordered a medium rare steak. It was beyond well done. I did send it back (I never do that) The 2nd one was still well done. I took it home for my husband, it was cooked to his liking.
Everything, from service to food quality to wait times for food, was just awful. We quietly paid for our food and left.
